Where can I buy paperback copies of your books?

If you live in the UK, our paperback titles are available to buy from the Cookies and Oxygen Shop or Lindsey Stirling’s website or Amazon UK.

If you live outside of the UK, our paperback titles are only available to purchase on the following Amazon sites: US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Japan.

Why buy directly from us?

Buying paperbacks and/or ebooks directly from us benefits both our authors and ourselves, as each direct sale generates a higher royalty amount to share. When you’re starting off and only selling a small number of books this can make a huge difference.

And if you need another reason, our paperbacks may reach you faster, because we hold stock of many of our titles.

How long until I receive my paperback order?

We aim to hold a small stock of each of our paperback titles. If the book you’ve ordered is in stock, then you should receive it within seven days. We post Royal Mail second class.

However, as an independent publisher, it is not always possible to hold stock of every title, so some of our paperback titles are only available as print-on-demand. This means that our printing partner prints the book especially for you before it is posted. Typically, print-on-demand books will take 2 to 3 weeks to reach you. Our paperbacks sold on Amazon are printed on demand like this.

The product pages indicate whether the book is in stock or a print-on-demand copy. All bulk orders will be fulfilled on a print-on-demand basis.

After buying from you, what will appear on my card statement?

Any purchases from us will show up on your card statement as: Cookies and Oxygen.

Something’s gone wrong. What should I do?

Any issues regarding paperback or ebook orders, please contact us.

Do you accept returns?

We are very sorry, but we are unable to accept returns at this time.

Where can I buy ebook copies of your books?

All of our ebook titles are available to buy from the Cookies and Oxygen Shop as downloadable .epub files.

They are also available to buy in over 60 countries worldwide in the Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Kobo ebookstores, plus in many other popular ebookstores.

Why don’t you offer pre-orders for your ebooks?

Sadly, the functionality of our website platform does not allow us to offer this. Our ebook links therefore go live on the day of release. Sign up to our Newsletter to receive a reminder on the day of release.

How do the ebook download links work?

Our ebooks are all available to download as an .epub file. This should work in every e-reader except for Kindle.

Once you have purchased an ebook from our Shop, you will be given a link to download the ebook straight away. This link remains active for 24 hours after first download.

What are the challenges of being an independent publisher?

The two greatest challenges are making our books more widely known and getting our paperback titles more widely distributed.

If you enjoy one of our books, you can help us out with the first challenge by telling your friends and family about it, posting something about the book on social media, or by taking a couple of minutes to leave a review on Goodreads, Amazon, or in an ebookstore.

The second challenge is much harder due to the high percentage of the RRP that paperback book sellers and distributors wish to take, combined with the low print numbers an independent publisher like ourselves prints. Even when using print-on-demand services—and especially for books with hundreds of pages—the print cost alone can be anywhere between 25-50% of a competitive RRP. When you then factor in stores asking for as much as 40% of RRP, distributors for 20%, plus the postage cost of sending books to the distributors of 20-30%… there’s just not enough percent. It doesn’t make for good maths for independent authors or publishers wanting to earn something from their book sales. This is why we publish our lengthier paperbacks in “a hardback size,” and then only make them available direct, or through a seller, like Amazon, which both prints and sells.
